Circa 2013-2014. The aerodrome was officially delisted and removed from the Canada Water Aerodrome Supplement (WAS) and other Transport Canada publications around this period.
Cessation of private operations. As a small aerodrome operated by a private entity (Aéro-Club Les Cèdres Inc.), the closure was not due to a major event like an accident or military conversion. It was most likely an operational or economic decision by the owner/operator, possibly related to retirement, sale of the associated waterfront property, rising insurance costs, or a decline in activity.
The site has fully reverted to non-aviation use. The coordinates place the former water landing area on the Saint Lawrence River, adjacent to a residential waterfront property at the end of Rue de l'Anse in Les Cèdres. Current satellite imagery shows private docks for recreational boats, but no specific infrastructure for seaplanes (such as a dedicated ramp, hangar, or fueling station) remains. The area is now used for private residential and marine recreational purposes.
Les Cèdres Water Aerodrome served as a registered private water base for the general aviation community in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, west of Montreal. Its location on the Saint Lawrence River provided a convenient point for recreational floatplane pilots. Operations were limited to VFR (Visual Flight Rules) flights by private, float-equipped aircraft such as Cessna 180s/185s, Piper Super Cubs, and de Havilland Beavers. In official publications, it was listed as 'Private' (PPR - Prior Permission Required), meaning pilots needed to contact the operator for permission before landing. It held no significant commercial or military role; its importance was purely to local, recreational aviation.
There are no known plans, discussions, or prospects for reopening the Les Cèdres Water Aerodrome. Given that the associated land is private residential property and the original operating entity is no longer active, re-establishing an aerodrome at this location is considered extremely unlikely. It would require a new operator to acquire suitable property and undergo the full registration process with Transport Canada.
