North Cariboo Air Park

Economic reasons and land redevelopment. The private land on which the air park was situated was sold to a new owner for commercial/industrial purposes, leading to the cessation of all aviation activities.

The site has been repurposed for industrial use. The areas that once housed hangars and the aircraft apron have been redeveloped with large industrial buildings and are used for material storage, likely related to local industries such as forestry. While the outline of the former runway is still visible from satellite imagery, it is overgrown, unmaintained, and completely unusable for aircraft.

North Cariboo Air Park was a private, unregistered aerodrome that served as a key facility for the general aviation community in Prince George, British Columbia. It operated as an alternative to the main Prince George Airport (CYXS), catering to recreational pilots and private aircraft owners. The air park featured a single turf/gravel runway (approximately 3,300 feet long) and numerous private hangars. It was a community hub for light aircraft operations, including recreational flying and aircraft storage, fostering a local flying club atmosphere.
