Kencor Airport was a private general aviation facility owned by the Copithorne family, a well-known ranching family in the Priddis area. The name 'Kencor' is understood to be a portmanteau of the owner's name, Ken Copithorne. The airport featured a single north/south turf runway, approximately 3,000 feet in length. It primarily handled light, single-engine aircraft (like Cessnas or Pipers) for the personal and business activities of the ranch. Its significance is local, serving as an example of the private airstrips that were once more common in rural Canada to support agriculture and ranching operations.
