Approximately 2013. The airport was decommissioned following the official approval (homologation) and opening of the new Chapadão do Sul Municipal Airport (ICAO: SSCD) in August 2013.
Infrastructural replacement and economic development. Tenoar Airport was a small, private, unpaved airfield that became obsolete with the construction of the new, larger, and publicly-owned Chapadão do Sul Municipal Airport (SSCD). The new airport was built with a paved runway and superior infrastructure to support the region's rapidly growing agribusiness economy and to attract commercial air services, a capability the old Tenoar Airport did not have.
The site has been fully decommissioned and reclaimed for agricultural use. Satellite imagery of the coordinates confirms that the area of the former runway has been plowed and is now part of the surrounding cultivated farmland. No airport infrastructure, such as hangars or markings, remains. The faint outline of the runway is still visible from the air but is physically gone.
Tenoar Airport was a private aerodrome ('aeródromo privado') that served as a key piece of infrastructure for the local agricultural community. Its primary operations consisted of general aviation, including executive transport for farm owners and agribusiness professionals, as well as extensive agricultural aviation (crop dusting). It was essential for the logistics and operations of the region's primary industry before the city invested in a modern public airport.
Zero. There are no plans or prospects for reopening Tenoar Airport. The land has been permanently repurposed for agriculture. All aviation investment, development, and future planning for the municipality are concentrated on the new and fully operational Chapadão do Sul Municipal Airport (SSCD / IATA: CQA).
