Common Complaints

• Extreme Cold and Harsh Conditions: The area experiences extremely cold temperatures, even in summer, and prolonged periods without sun from mid-November to late January.
• Lack of Public Amenities: There is no indication of conventional airport terminal facilities, amenities, or public services like those found at commercial airports. The "airport" is part of a small village supporting the station's personnel.
• Limited Access and Daylight Restrictions: Charter flights are restricted to daylight hours, and the remote location means travel is generally for specific operational or research purposes rather than tourism.
• Absence of Standard Traveler Information: Information on security wait times, customs/immigration experience, transportation connections, or parking for general travelers is completely unavailable, as these services are not applicable in a conventional sense.

Station Nord Landing Strip (BGMI) is a highly specialized facility vital for Arctic research and Danish sovereignty. It is not a commercial airport and lacks public traveler infrastructure. Experiences are defined by the extreme environment and the functional purpose of the base, rather than typical passenger conveniences.
