Limited taxi services are available and must be pre-booked, often through your hotel or tour operator. These are typically transfers from the airport to the village of Kulusuk or to the harbor for boat connections. There is no formal taxi rank at the airport.
There are no car rental agencies at Kulusuk Airport. The road network is extremely limited, and self-drive car rental is not a viable option for transportation in the area.
There is no public bus or train service. The primary onward transportation from Kulusuk is by air or sea. Air Greenland operates scheduled helicopter flights to Tasiilaq, the main town in the region. During the summer, boat transfers to Tasiilaq are also available from the Kulusuk harbor.

The US military originally built this airport in 1956 as part of the Distant Early Warning (DEW) Line to detect Soviet bombers attacking over the Arctic during the Cold War. It is now a civilian airport with STOL air service.
