Common Complaints

• Private and Restricted Access: Mogollon Airpark is for private use and not open to the public for general operations. Guests must secure landing permission and submit a hold-harmless agreement in advance of their arrival.
• Day Use Only Runway: The 3420'x50' asphalt runway is strictly for day use only, meaning night operations are not permitted. Pilots need to plan their flights to ensure arrival and departure before sunset.
• Density Altitude and Weather Challenges: Pilots flying into AZ82 must be prepared for density altitudes that can exceed 10,000 feet and the potential for wind shear and turbulence during high winds.
• Wildlife on Runway: There is a distinct possibility of encountering wildlife on the runway.
• Absence of Traditional Airport Facilities: As a private residential airpark, there are no commercial terminal facilities, security checkpoints, customs/immigration services, or FBO businesses operating on-site for transient visitors.

Mogollon Airpark offers a unique and highly appreciated fly-in residential experience for pilots and their guests who value a peaceful, nature-immersed environment and a strong sense of community. Its main draw lies in the convenience of airpark living and extensive outdoor recreation in the White Mountains. However, visitors must be aware of its private nature and operational limitations, including the requirement for prior permission, day-use-only runway, and the absence of standard public airport infrastructure.
