Satellite imagery of the coordinates shows the faint, overgrown outlines of two unpaved runways. The airstrip is unmaintained, unusable, and there are no remaining buildings, hangars, or infrastructure associated with it.

Winston Airport was a private airstrip whose significance was vital on a local level. It served the vast and remote Winston pastoral station in outback Queensland. When active, it handled light aircraft operations essential for the station's functioning, including the transport of personnel, delivery of urgent supplies and mail, and aerial mustering of livestock. Critically, like many outback airstrips, it would have been a landing ground for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), providing an essential lifeline for medical emergencies.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening this airstrip. Given its private nature, remote location, and the significant cost required to restore it to a safe, usable condition, a reopening is considered highly unlikely.
