There is no official 'Ngorongoro Airport.' The primary airstrip serving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is Lake Manyara Airstrip (LKY). Standard taxi services are not available here. All ground transportation is pre-arranged through your safari operator or lodge, who will have a 4x4 vehicle and driver waiting for you upon arrival.
No car rental agencies operate at the Lake Manyara Airstrip. Vehicle rentals for self-drive safaris must be arranged well in advance from companies based in the city of Arusha. This is not a common option for most tourists.
