Farnsworth Ranch Airstrip

The airstrip was a private facility owned by Farnsworth Ranch. While no official reason was published, the closure is consistent with a private owner ceasing aviation activities. This is common for small, private airstrips and can be due to the sale of the property, the owner's retirement from flying, prohibitive costs of maintenance and insurance, or the land being repurposed for more profitable agricultural use. There is no evidence of a specific accident or regulatory action forcing the closure.

The site of the former airstrip has been fully reclaimed for agriculture. Satellite imagery of the coordinates shows that the land where the runway once existed is now actively farmed, with crop rows running over the former runway's location. The faint, linear outline of the north-south runway is still barely visible from the air, but there are no remaining airport infrastructure, such as hangars, markings, or a distinct runway surface.

Farnsworth Ranch Airstrip held no major historical significance beyond its local utility. It was a typical private-use farm strip. When active, it featured a single dirt runway (16/34) approximately 2,200 feet long. Its operations were primarily for General Aviation, likely supporting the agricultural activities of the Farnsworth Ranch (such as crop dusting or aerial surveying) and providing personal air transportation for the ranch owners.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the Farnsworth Ranch Airstrip. The land has been converted back to agricultural use, and re-establishing an airport would require significant private investment from the current landowner to cease farming on the parcel and reconstruct the runway. As a decommissioned private field, there is no public or commercial interest in its revival.
