Sunclass Airlines (ICAO: VKG) is a Danish charter airline operating leisure flights primarily for Nordic tour operators. The airline has a rich history of transformations and maintains a focus on providing holiday travel experiences.
Sunclass Airlines traces its origins back to Premiair, founded on January 1, 1994, through the merger of Conair of Scandinavia and Scanair. Over the years, it underwent several name changes, becoming MyTravel Airways in 2002 and then Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia in 2008 following the acquisition by Thomas Cook Group. In November 2019, after the Thomas Cook Group entered liquidation, Norwegian investor Petter Stordalen and Strawberry Group rebranded the company as Sunclass Airlines. The airline is affiliated with the Ving Group, a Nordic tour operator, and is part of the Nordic Leisure Travel Group.
The airline's operational base and headquarters are located at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) in Denmark. Sunclass Airlines operates charter services from various Scandinavian airports, including Copenhagen Kastrup, Oslo Gardermoen, Stockholm Arlanda, Helsinki Vantaa, Billund, Gothenburg, and Malmö.
Sunclass Airlines operates an all-Airbus fleet. As of November 2025, its fleet consists of 13 aircraft, including Airbus A321ceos (6 aircraft), Airbus A321neos (3 aircraft), Airbus A330-900neos (3 aircraft), and Airbus A330-300s (1 aircraft). The A321s are primarily used for European short to medium-haul destinations, while the A330s serve longer-haul routes. The airline's route network focuses on international charter flights to leisure destinations across Europe (including the Mediterranean and Canary Islands), Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. Sunclass Airlines is not a member of any major global airline alliances like Star Alliance, SkyTeam, or Oneworld. However, it has recently joined the European Regions Airline Association (ERA) and Airlines for Europe (A4E).
Notable services include various cabin classes such as Economy, Economy Plus, and Premium. Passengers in Premium can expect larger, more comfortable seats, a three-course meal with unlimited drinks (excluding champagne), and amenity kits on longer flights. In-flight entertainment is offered via "Sunclass Network," accessible on personal mobile devices or tablets, with seat-back screens available on the A330s. Meals and checked baggage policies can vary based on the travel class and flight duration, with complimentary meals typically provided on longer international services.
