Initially established to cater to the burgeoning Egyptian tourism market, the airline was fully acquired by an Egyptian investor in March 2022. It operates as a full-service carrier on its international routes, offering both scheduled and charter flights.
The airline's main operational base and headquarters are located in Cairo, Egypt, with its primary hub at Cairo International Airport (CAI). Nesma Airlines currently operates a fleet predominantly composed of Airbus A320 aircraft, renowned for their suitability for short to medium-range flights. Recent reports also indicate the addition of Boeing 737s to enhance its regional growth and capacity. Historically, its fleet included Airbus A319s, A321s, and, for its Saudi Arabian counterpart, ATR 72-600s and Boeing 777-200ERs.
Nesma Airlines' route network spans domestic flights within Egypt and Saudi Arabia, alongside international services connecting key destinations across the Middle East (including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), Africa (Egypt), and Europe (such as Italy, Russia, Germany, and Switzerland).
