China Postal Airlines

China Postal Airlines (ICAO: CYZ, IATA: CF) is a dedicated cargo airline based in China, specializing in the air transportation of express mail, postal items, and general cargo primarily for the China Post Group. The airline was established on November 25, 1996, and commenced operations on February 27, 1997. It was initially formed as a joint venture between the Chinese Postal Bureau (51% stake) and China Southern Airlines (49% stake). In September 2008, China Post acquired all shares from China Southern, making China Postal Airlines a fully owned subsidiary of China Post.

The airline's main operating bases and primary hubs are Nanjing Lukou International Airport (NKG) and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). Its headquarters are located in Beijing, China. As of November 2025, China Postal Airlines operates a fleet of 40 freighter aircraft, which includes various models such as Boeing 737-300s, 737-400s, 737-800s, 757-200s, and 777Fs. The average age of its fleet is reported to be 23.5 years.

China Postal Airlines operates an extensive route network, focusing on both domestic and international cargo services. Domestically, it serves over 300 destinations across China to support China Post's express mail system. Internationally, the airline provides scheduled and charter cargo services to key global markets in Europe, North America, and Asia. International scheduled services to South Korea and Japan began in 2006, followed by international cargo charter services in 2007. Recent expansions include services to the United States, specifically to Chicago and Los Angeles, utilizing Boeing 777F aircraft, and new services to Europe. As a cargo airline, it does not offer passenger cabin classes or related services. China Postal Airlines is not a member of any major airline alliances such as Star Alliance, SkyTeam, or Oneworld.
