Kingfisher Air Services (ICAO: BEZ), commonly known as Kingfisher Airlines, was an Indian airline that, despite its focus on luxury and customer service, ceased operations on October 20, 2012, due to severe financial difficulties and the suspension of its operating license. While there is also a small, unrelated entity named "Kingfisher Air Services" (ICAO: BEZ, Callsign: SEA BREEZE) based in the United States that operates Cessna 208 aircraft, this report focuses on the prominent Indian airline due to the comprehensive nature of the request.

Kingfisher Airlines Limited was founded in 2003 by the Bengaluru-based United Breweries Group and commenced commercial operations on May 9, 2005. The airline aimed to redefine the flying experience in India by offering a luxurious and premium service. Its main operational hubs included Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. The airline's head office was initially in Vile Parle (East), Mumbai, later moving to The Qube in Andheri (East), Mumbai, with its registered office located in UB City, Bengaluru.

At its peak, Kingfisher Airlines operated a diverse fleet primarily consisting of ATR 42 and ATR 72 aircraft for regional and short-haul domestic routes, alongside the Airbus A320 family (A319, A320, A321) for domestic and short-haul international flights. For its long-haul international services, the airline utilized Airbus A330-200s. The airline's route network was extensive, covering over 55 cities across the Indian Subcontinent. International operations began on September 3, 2008, connecting Bengaluru with London, and at its widest, the airline served destinations in the UK, UAE, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Hong Kong.

Kingfisher Airlines became a member elect of the Oneworld airline alliance on June 7, 2010, and was slated to become a full member by February 10, 2012. However, due to its worsening financial situation, its entry into the alliance was put on hold and ultimately never materialized before the airline ceased operations. The airline was known for its distinct service offerings, including three cabin classes: Kingfisher First (business class), Kingfisher Class (economy/premium economy), and Kingfisher Red (a low-fare subsidiary, formerly Air Deccan). Notable services included personal in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems with audio-video on demand (AVOD) on every seat (a first for an Indian airline), live TV channels, gourmet meals, and access to exclusive Kingfisher Lounges for premium passengers and elite frequent flyer members at key airports. Kingfisher First cabins on long-haul flights featured fully flat beds and a unique steam ironing service.
