Its existence in aviation databases is likely due to it being a temporary, un-registered landing zone used for logistical support (e.g., transporting materials or personnel via helicopter) during the construction of the adjacent high-rise luxury condominiums in the mid-2010s. The primary and officially recognized air access for the island has been the active, FAA-registered Fisher Island Heliport (FAA ID: 7FL6), which is located on the eastern side of the island and serves the private transport needs of residents and guests.

There are zero plans or prospects for reopening a heliport at this specific location.
