It featured a single, unpaved north-south runway, likely turf or dirt, with a length of approximately 2,600 feet. Its operations were limited to serving small, private aircraft such as single-engine Cessnas or Pipers. The airport's significance was purely local, likely serving the personal and recreational flying needs of its owner and possibly other pilots from the small, unincorporated community of Wilroads Gardens, located southwest of Dodge City.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening Wilroads Gardens Airport. The land has been fully repurposed for agriculture, and the nearby Dodge City Regional Airport (KDDC) provides comprehensive aviation services for the region. Re-establishing a private airport on this site is considered extremely unlikely.
