Approximately between 2010 and 2014. Satellite imagery shows a well-maintained grass runway through 2009, but by 2014, the runway shows clear signs of disuse and is no longer being maintained for aviation.
Cessation of private use. As a private ranch airstrip, the most likely reason for closure was that the owner of the Jordan Ranch either stopped flying, sold the property, or no longer had a need for a private airfield. There is no evidence of a specific incident, accident, or economic failure leading to the closure; rather, it appears to have been a gradual phasing out of active use.
The site is now fully integrated back into the Jordan Ranch's agricultural and ranching operations. The former runway is an open pasture, and while its linear outline is still faintly visible in satellite imagery, it is overgrown and not suitable for aircraft. The hangar building at the southeast end of the former runway appears to still be standing and is likely used for farm equipment storage or other ranch-related purposes. The land is not used for any aviation activity.
Jordan Ranch Airport was a private airfield serving the needs of the large Jordan Ranch property. It was likely constructed sometime between the mid-1980s and early 1990s, as it does not appear on earlier aeronautical charts but is clearly visible and active in 1995 aerial imagery. The airport consisted of a single, unpaved grass/turf runway, oriented approximately NW/SE, with a length of around 3,500 feet. A hangar was located at the southeast end of the runway. Operations were limited to private general aviation aircraft, such as single or twin-engine propeller planes, used by the ranch owner and their guests. The airport held no public, commercial, or military significance and was primarily for the convenience of the property owner.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the Jordan Ranch Airport. As the airfield is on private property and has been inactive for over a decade, its reopening would be entirely dependent on the current owner's desire and financial ability to restore it. Given that the land has been repurposed for agriculture, the likelihood of it being converted back to an active airfield is extremely low.
