Approximately between 2017 and 2019. Analysis of historical satellite imagery shows the airstrip was well-maintained with an aircraft present in 2016. By 2018, it began to show signs of disuse, and by 2021, it was clearly overgrown and unserviceable.
The specific reason for the closure is not publicly documented. As a private, unregistered airstrip, its closure was not subject to public announcement. The most probable reasons are related to the personal circumstances of the property owner, such as the sale of the property, the owner ceasing aviation activities due to age or health, the sale of the aircraft, or the prohibitive costs of maintenance and insurance. There is no evidence to suggest closure was due to an accident or conversion for military or commercial use.
The site is currently a private ranch. The former grass runway is completely overgrown, unmaintained, and unusable for any aviation activity. The faint outline of the north-south runway is still visible in satellite imagery, but the land has reverted to pasture. The hangar-like building near the north end of the former strip appears to still be intact and is likely used for storage or as a workshop for the ranch.
Aero-Bee Ranch Airstrip was a private general aviation facility with no significant public or military history. Its purpose was to serve the residents and guests of the private ranch on which it was located. Operations would have consisted of light, single-engine aircraft for recreational flying and personal transportation. The name 'Aero-Bee Ranch' suggests a property with a dual focus on aviation and ranching or beekeeping. The airstrip appears to have been active from at least the mid-1990s through the mid-2010s.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the airstrip. Any potential for reactivation would be entirely at the discretion and expense of the current landowner. Given that it is on private property and was never a public-use facility, its future as an airfield is dependent solely on the owner's interest in aviation. It is likely to remain permanently closed.
