Willhite Airport

The airport was a private-use airfield owned by an individual, William Willhite. While the specific reason is not officially documented, the closure is consistent with personal reasons typical for small, private strips, such as the owner's retirement from flying, sale of the property, or death. There is no evidence of military conversion, a major accident, or commercial economic failure leading to its closure.

The site is now private property and is no longer used for aviation. Satellite imagery of the coordinates shows that the former runway area has reverted to a simple grass field, likely used for hay production or as part of a larger rural residence. The faint outline of the former runway is still visible from the air, but all dedicated aviation infrastructure has been removed.

Willhite Airport (formerly assigned FAA identifier 3MO1) was a small, private general aviation airfield.
