Approximately between 2009 and 2013. The airfield was depicted on the 2009 San Francisco Sectional Aeronautical Chart but was no longer shown on the 2013 edition of the same chart.
Change in land use and ownership. The airport was located on the historic Guenoc Ranch property. The ranch was sold to developers with plans for a large-scale luxury resort, residential, and winery complex (the Guenoc Valley Project). The small, private airstrip did not fit into these development plans and was subsequently abandoned.
The airport is permanently closed and abandoned. Satellite imagery shows the faint outline of the former runway, but it is overgrown and completely unusable. The site is now part of the extensive land holdings for the Guenoc Valley development project, which is focused on vineyards, a luxury resort, and residential properties. The area was also significantly impacted by the 2015 Valley Fire, which would have destroyed any remaining surface structures.
7-M Ranch Airport was a private-use airfield with no major historical significance beyond serving its owners. It was part of the 7-M Ranch, which itself was a component of the larger, historically notable Guenoc Ranch. Operations were limited to private general aviation, likely consisting of single-engine aircraft used for recreational flying and transportation by the ranch owners and their guests. According to a 1996 directory, it featured a single 2,200-foot unpaved runway.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the 7-M Ranch Airport. The land has been irrevocably repurposed for a multi-billion dollar development project. The restoration of a small, private airstrip is not part of the new owner's plans and is considered highly improbable.
