Approximately mid-1990s. Analysis of historical satellite imagery shows the airstrip was intact in April 1993 but had been completely replaced by a housing development by May 1999.
Economic reasons, specifically residential land development. The value of the land for suburban housing surpassed its value as a private airstrip. The property was sold and redeveloped into the housing community that occupies the site today.
The site of the former airport is now a fully developed suburban residential neighborhood, coincidentally also named 'Manor Knoll'. The former runway and associated airport property are now occupied by single-family homes, lawns, and streets, including Knollwood Drive and Haverhill Drive in Mountville, PA.
Manor Knoll was a classic example of a personal-use, private airfield. It consisted of a single north-south turf runway and likely a small hangar. Its operations were limited to general aviation, serving the recreational flying needs of its owner and possibly a few other permitted pilots. The aircraft operating from the strip would have been small, single-engine planes like Cessnas or Pipers. It held no public, commercial, or military significance and was not open for public use.
Zero. The land has been permanently re-purposed and is densely occupied by private homes and infrastructure. There are no plans or possibilities for the airport to ever be reopened.
