Croisant Airport

The airport was a private airstrip, and its closure appears to be a direct result of the death of its owner in 2007. Without its primary user and caretaker, the airfield fell into disuse. The land was subsequently repurposed for economic reasons, being fully converted back into productive farmland.

The site has been completely reclaimed for agriculture. There are no visible traces of the former north-south runway, taxiways, or any associated buildings like hangars. The land at coordinates 37.7962, -95.341904 is now an active, cultivated farm field, indistinguishable from the surrounding properties.

Croisant Airport was a small, private grass airstrip used for general aviation. It did not handle commercial or significant military operations. Its historical significance is personal and local, serving as the private airfield for its owner, Robert 'Bob' Croisant, a local pilot. It represents a common type of private rural airfield built for the passion and convenience of an individual aviator for recreational flying and personal travel.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening Croisant Airport. The land is privately owned and is currently in active agricultural use. Re-establishing an airport on the site would require the landowner to cease farming operations and invest significant capital, making any prospect of reopening extremely unlikely.
