The airport closed sometime between 1993 and 2002. It was still depicted on the 1993 Green Bay Sectional Chart but had been removed by the 2002 edition.
The specific reason for closure is not officially documented. However, the most likely cause was economic or the sale of the property. Small, private-use airfields often cease operations when the land becomes more valuable for other purposes, such as agriculture, or when the owner/operator retires. The complete conversion of the site back to farmland supports this conclusion.
The site of the former Sky Diving Airport has been fully converted back into agricultural land. Current satellite imagery of the coordinates shows only cultivated farm fields. There are no remaining traces of the runway, hangars, or any other aviation-related infrastructure.
The airport, which also used the FAA identifier 2WN2, was a private airfield primarily serving as a dedicated dropzone for sport parachuting. It was operated by the Wisconsin Skydivers Club and was a key local facility for skydiving activities from at least the early 1970s through the early 1990s. The airfield consisted of a single unpaved turf runway, estimated to be 2,600 feet long (Runway 18/36), and supported operations of light aircraft used to carry skydivers to altitude.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the airport. The land is privately owned and actively farmed, and all infrastructure has been removed. Re-establishing an airport at this location would require a complete and costly redevelopment and is considered highly improbable.
