Between 2002 and 2005. An aerial photograph from 2002 shows the airport was active with several gliders and a tow plane visible on the field. However, a 2005 aerial photograph clearly shows the runway area had been plowed over for agricultural purposes.
Economic reasons and land redevelopment. The private airfield was converted into agricultural land. This is a common fate for small, privately-owned airstrips, especially in fertile regions like Oregon's Yamhill Valley, where the land's value for agriculture or viticulture exceeds its value as an airport.
The site has been fully converted to agricultural use. Current satellite imagery shows the land is completely cultivated with crops, consistent with the surrounding farmland in the Yamhill Valley. All traces of the runway, taxiways, and any associated airport structures have been removed. The outline of the former north-south runway is no longer discernible.
Bushnell Airport (also known as Bushnell Airfield) was a private general aviation airfield. According to the 2000 AOPA Airport Directory, it was owned by Robert Bushnell and featured a single 2,200-foot turf runway designated 17/35. Its most notable function was serving as a hub for recreational soaring, with the directory specifically mentioning 'intense glider activity on weekends.' It catered to the local general aviation and glider community before its closure. The ICAO code 'US-10430' is a non-standard identifier used by some third-party databases for unofficial or closed fields; it was not an official FAA or ICAO code.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the airport. The land has been actively farmed for nearly two decades, making any return to aviation use extremely unlikely.
This is, apparently, a separate airport from the adjacent Abba's Airport http://www.ourairports.com/airports/91OR/ -- see my comment on 91OR.
