Between 1993 and 1998. The airport was depicted on the 1993 El Paso Sectional Chart but was no longer shown on the 1998 World Aeronautical Chart.
The specific reason is not officially documented. However, as a small, private turf airstrip associated with a farm, the closure was most likely for economic or personal reasons. Common causes for such closures include the owner ceasing aviation activities, the sale of the property, or the costs of maintenance and insurance becoming prohibitive for a private-use facility.
The airport is permanently closed and the site has been completely converted back to agricultural use. Satellite imagery of the coordinates shows the land is actively cultivated farmland. A faint, discolored outline of the former north-south runway is still visible as a scar on the landscape due to soil compaction, but no airport infrastructure such as hangars, buildings, or markings remains.
Mc Nabb Farm Airport was a private airfield with no major historical significance beyond serving its owner and local agricultural needs. First listed in the 1977 AOPA Airports USA Directory, it featured a single 2,600-foot unpaved (turf/dirt) runway. Its primary operations would have been supporting the McNabb farm, likely for personal transportation in light aircraft and potentially for agricultural aviation purposes such as crop dusting or aerial surveying of the surrounding farmland.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening Mc Nabb Farm Airport. The land is privately owned and utilized for agriculture, and all aviation infrastructure has been removed. Re-establishing an airport at this location would be prohibitively expensive and is considered extremely unlikely.
