Circa late 2010s. The heliport was officially designated as 'Closed Indefinitely' by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and it was removed from official aviation charts and publications between 2017 and 2019.
Cessation of private corporate use. As a heliport owned and operated by a private company, its closure was an internal business decision. This was not due to a specific accident or military conversion. The most likely reasons include economic factors, a change in corporate transportation strategy, or shifts in business operations following the company's acquisition (Lawrence Services was acquired and is now part of ChampionX).
The site is now part of the corporate campus of ChampionX at 10850 Highway 105 West in Conroe. The original concrete helipad is still physically present in a grassy area behind the main office building, as visible in satellite imagery. However, it is unmarked, unmaintained for aviation purposes, and no longer operational. The land is simply part of the commercial property grounds.
The facility, which had the FAA identifier 54TX, was a private-use heliport for Lawrence Administrative Services, Inc., a company specializing in oil and gas wellhead equipment. The 'US-10092' identifier is a non-official code used by some third-party aviation databases and is not a recognized ICAO code. The heliport's sole purpose was to support corporate operations, primarily for transporting executives, key personnel, and clients between its Conroe headquarters and other facilities or remote field locations, a common logistical practice in the Texas energy industry.
There are no known public plans or prospects for reopening the heliport. As a private facility, any decision to reactivate it would be at the sole discretion of the current property owner, ChampionX. Given that it has been decommissioned for several years and the company's transportation needs have likely evolved, a reopening is considered highly unlikely.
