Approximately between 2008 and 2010. Analysis of historical satellite imagery shows a distinct runway in 2008, but by 2010 the land had been plowed and converted to farmland.
The airport was a private, restricted-use field. Its closure appears to be for personal and economic reasons, likely related to the owner retiring from flying, selling the property, or passing away. The land was subsequently converted back to agricultural use, which is a common reason for the closure of small, private airfields.
The site of the former airport has been completely reclaimed for agriculture. The land where the turf runway was located is now an active, cultivated farm field, indistinguishable from the surrounding cropland. There are no visible remnants of the airport, such as hangars, markers, or the runway itself.
Sisk Restricted Landing Area was a privately owned airfield used for general aviation. It was owned and operated by Robert Sisk. The facility consisted of a single turf runway, approximately 2,600 feet in length, oriented NW/SE. As a 'Restricted Landing Area' (RLA), it was not open to the public and its use required prior permission from the owner. Its operations were limited to personal, recreational, and possibly business-related flights by the owner. It held no major commercial or military significance and primarily served as a private farm strip.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the Sisk Restricted Landing Area. The land has been fully repurposed for farming, and re-establishing an airport at this location is considered highly improbable.
