Taxis and rideshare services (such as Uber and Lyft) are available. The taxi stand is located on the curb directly outside the baggage claim area. It is recommended to arrange rides in advance, especially for late-night arrivals.
Rental car counters for several major companies are located inside the terminal, directly across from the baggage claim carousels. Companies include Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National. The rental car lot is a short walk from the terminal exit.
There is no direct public bus service from Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) that serves the airport. Travelers wishing to use public transportation must take a taxi or rideshare to the nearest bus stop, which is several miles from the airport.
This is a nice airport for the Jet Set. Landmark Aviation has
friendly service people.....
However, the security issues make it not a really good place
for making friends, learning to fly, and the way things used
to be in aviation.
Other airports around are somewhat better for these purposes
such as Orange, Gordonsville, Eagles Nest (Waynesboro)
