Air Cab is the exclusive taxi service provider for the airport. Cabs are readily available 24/7 just outside the arrivals exit of the terminal building. Fares to downtown Moncton, Dieppe, and Riverview are typically based on a flat rate zone system. Payment can be made with cash, debit, and all major credit cards.
Car rental counters are conveniently located inside the terminal building in the arrivals area. Companies operating on-site include Avis, Budget, Enterprise, and National/Alamo. Pre-booking is highly recommended, especially during peak seasons, to ensure vehicle availability.
There is no direct public transit bus service (Codiac Transpo) that connects to the airport terminal. The nearest city bus stops are several kilometers away, making it an impractical option for travelers with luggage. Alternative transportation such as a taxi or rental car is necessary to travel to and from the airport.
Great Airport if you understand that the upper section near the visible front of the airport is more for buses, taxi and shuttles. It is much easier to unload or pickup a passenger by parking the vehicle near the entrance door in the 1st level parking lot. It is best your vehicle is parked here in case a plane or your passenger is delayed. When the parking kiosk is closed just print out and pay for parking at the machine on your way out just before the exit door to the parking lot. Keep your receipt to scan to open the gate. A bit different, just takes a little to get used to.
I am very disappointed with the arrangements for arriving passengers who are being picked up at the arrivals door. With the way the taxi parking and limo parking is laid out, there is only room for one or two cars to get to the curb to pick up a waiting passenger. At one point, I pulled into that slot beside another car because my wife was right there waiting. The taxi behind me laid on the horn. The plan for pick up has not been very well thought out and needs an overhaul!! I understand that the taxis need to be close to the arrivals door, but there has to be room for the private drivers to be close as well. I have been there several times, and I see no reason why the taxis can't line up on the far side of the pick up area directly across from the arrival gate. I've been to many airports in North America, but this one is the most unfriendly as far as arriving passengers being picked up by friends or family.
On Jan. 23, 2012, the 3:20pm flight to Toronto was cancelled. A passenger was given another flight at the same time on the next day. He was not given transportation from and back to the airport, a hotel room, or meals. I'm very disappointed in Air Canada.
