The heliport was closed sometime between 1987 and 1994. It was depicted on the 1987 Seattle Sectional Chart but was no longer present on the 1994 edition. The exact date is not publicly recorded, which is common for private facilities.
The closure was a direct result of corporate restructuring and real estate transactions. The heliport was built for and served the global headquarters of Tektronix. During the late 1980s and 1990s, Tektronix underwent significant downsizing and began selling off large portions of its sprawling Beaverton campus. The property on which the heliport was located was eventually acquired by the adjacent Nike World Headquarters, which expanded onto the former Tektronix land. The new owner had no operational need for this specific heliport.
The site of the former heliport is now a paved parking lot that is part of the expanded Nike World Headquarters campus. The coordinates (45.495098, -122.827003) place it in the parking area adjacent to several Nike buildings, including the Mia Hamm building. For many years after its closure, the faint painted outline of the helipad was still visible on the asphalt. However, as of the early 2020s, the lot appears to have been resurfaced, completely erasing the last physical remnants of the heliport.
The Beaverton Corporate Center Heliport (24OR) was a private facility that served as a key transportation asset for Tektronix, a pioneering and globally significant manufacturer of test and measurement equipment. Its primary function was for executive transport, allowing company leaders to bypass local traffic for quick trips to regional airports or other corporate sites. The existence of a dedicated heliport was a symbol of Tektronix's corporate prestige and scale during its peak in the 1970s and 80s. The facility consisted of a 60x60 foot concrete helipad marked with a standard circled 'H'.
There are zero plans or prospects for reopening the heliport. The land has been fully integrated into the secure Nike campus and repurposed for parking. The original corporate entity and its specific need for the facility are gone, and the current owner has not expressed any interest in re-establishing aviation operations at this specific site.
